Laid A Brick (Fun Poem 170) Poem by David Harris

Laid A Brick (Fun Poem 170)

There are people in this world
with a mind-set that tells them
if they do a job once
they are automatically a master at it.

A person I know was shown
how to mix sand and cement
and then how to lay a brick.
From then on he was a Master Bricklayer.

Another time he drilled a hole
into a piece of wood,
within moments of doing it
he became a Master Carpenter.

He changed a fuse in a plug
and you guessed it,
from then on he was a Master electrician
capable of fixing anything electrical.

Changing a washer in a tap
he then proclaimed he became a Master Plummer
and knew everything about pluming.
Seems whatever he touches he becomes a master at it.

What if he once put a worm on a fishing hook? Would he proclaim himself a Master baiter? : -)
