Lahari (MALAYALAM)

Pranayam oru lahari
Athil njanoru chashakam
Nirayunnithu madhuram
Nin priyamaam hrudayam!

Ninavukalude kaattil
Padarunna kinakkal
Ninmizhikalilengo
Njanaashikkum swargam!

Vingunnoru manassil
Pathiyaayoru shabdam
Mruduvaayoru sparsham
Punarum iru kaikal!

Naam onnaakum kaalam
Iniyathu maathram swapnam
Nin pranaya vachassil
Aliyunnee jeevan! !

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Lahari in Malayalam means drug. Love being a positive drug has much influence in people. I submit an English Transilation for Non-Malayalam readers. Once again sorry to dissappoint as this is also a love song.

Love is a drug
And I'm a wine glass
Sweetness fills in
That too your heart!

In the wind of memories
Flies my dreams
In your eyes I find
The heaven I desire

In my trembling mind
As a mellow voice
And a softened brush
Two hands hugging me tight

That day is my dream
The day we'll be together
Till then, in your eyes
Let me just get lost!

Translation becomes re-creation when it maintains the genre of poem, though the medium changes...thank you for the translation! (Report) Reply

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
