Ladylike Poem by Daria Domitrovic

Ladylike

Rating: 5.0

Lady nobody told you,
That life will leave you speechless.
Nobody told you
You will be sitting in the dark,
counting your pieces on the floor.

Your mother forgot to mention that love hurts,
Your dad forgot to point out your worth
Its been years of loneliness on this earth.

You go to bed with trembling knees
You go to bed thinking of all the people
You need to please.

Man’s hunger grows stronger
His touch every year more colder
You are still giving piece by piece
They said giving will give you peace.

Lady you pray at night
Screaming at Him like He’s to blame
Wishing to change your frame
You’re the woman that hates to wait
You’re the woman loving fairytale soulmate.

Step out boldly
With feathers and lipstick on
Conquer the day, conquer the night
Be his image, no fear no stage fright.
