Lady In Red Poem by Matt Greenblatt

Lady In Red

To say that her hair
Shines like the sun
Would fail to do justice
To that red-haired one
Forsaken are now
All deities
Because no God above
Could frame such beauty
And there I stood
Across the spur
Ten feet yet still
A world from her
I stood there basking
In her shine
And plotting how
To make her mine
Across the rails
Eye swiftly stole
Gone was Eye
From my control
And Eye kidnapped
My girl in red
Now she's held captive
Inside my head
