We made dreams by the shore
Promised that we'd come once more
California was where our hearts were
And I just longed to be with her
In the valley days felt like years
And every day she shed tears
Convinced that we'd never go back
And our dreams were never on track

So we got in a car an drove away
and spent the rest of our days by the bay
We had nothing much to say
But.... We love Cali-for-ni-a

We bought a house on the shore
We were happier than ever before
Everyday was a little more terrific
Cause we loved life by the pacific
Watching the sunrise while we lay in the sand
And watching the sunset while she held my hand
On a mountain we ended all our nights
Just to watch the beautiful city lights
and I'd say
Listen up cause I've never said anything more true
The beauty of the city lights can't compare to you

We never looked back after we drove away
Because we spent the rest of our days by the bay
We had nothing much to say
But.... We love Cali-for-ni-a

One day we woke up and all our dreams were true
And the best part was that it was with you
