Wonderful Labrador
on a car seat
next to our automobile
I see him
through the window
and he is living for love
he gazes brilliantly
for his master
will never let him down
could stand a million years
in the rain
waiting for him
the Labrador of love
waiting for his master
the color of gold
and a chain around his neck
sniffing the air
sampling the air
finding secrets with a crinkled nose
he stares out the window
waiting for his master
to return from the grocery store
and a soup bone for
tasty jaws
this Labrador
lives for love
