L'Amour D'Un Ange Poem by Steven Holmes

L'Amour D'Un Ange

Deep inside my heart,
Your gaze warms my soul,
Can you describe what you see?
For I've run aground on life's heartbreak shoal.

Am I jaded?
Or is it scar tissue?
Has life's colour faded?
Or is trust my only issue?

But with eyes so blue,
And your heart of gold,
The fear of loving you,
Has lost its hold.

Now I can believe again,
That I am capable of love.
Gamble it all admist the pain,
On the angel, seraphs sent from above.

When you fell from amongst the stars,
And landed gently upon my love-starved soul,
Your touch soothed the scars,
And your presence made me whole.

Someday we'll grow old,
And sleep among the stars,
But we shall never be cold,
With a love as coveted as ours...
