Kurfurstendamm Poem by Mason Maestro

Kurfurstendamm

I had this dream where I managed the gate
Under the shadow of the Parliament by eight
It was as though I'd been left there
At Brandenberg, under order
When the Gestapo left their hives
To carry out Night of the Long Knives
In a purge
From the Reichstag where ministers converge
To Kurfurstendamm Merge

This Third Reich, its architects
Thought ending was better than mending
The more stitches, the less riches
It was dangerous, this Nazi resumption
Their deaths are a poor assumption
Neo-Pavlovian conditioning, hypnopaedia,
Big pharma and bio-chem off the unimedia
By some unlucky chance such a crevice of reactions
Should spawn in the solid substance of their distractions

One afternoon, fifty eight men died in the chamber, here
Five thousand more were thrashing madly en-mass
As any would on the straße
Then the dream ends when the screams start
On the TV- a documentary- the narrated part
When the Gestapo left their hives
To carry out Night of the Long Knives
In a purge
From the Reichstag where ministers converge
To Kurfurstendamm Merge
