Knock Over Poem by nimal dunuhinga

Knock Over

Rating: 5.0

I feel embarrassed.
I have sailed almost fifteen years
but I never had a nostalgia as today.
If I can borrow a pair of old wings
from a friendly bird,
I promise you to give whatever you want.
I just want to fly home and come back
definitely I'll return your wings.

Sweet longing - modestly said. Very good.

Sweet sadness eloquently expressed. I hope that friendly bird will be your kindred spirit to carry your message home. Sincerely, Sandra

Nimal: Your poem reminds me of a song my father use to sing. It goes like this 'Oh if I had the wings of an angel, over these prison walls I would fly, and I'd fly in the arms of my poor darling, and then I'd be willing to die. your friend.............Dave
