Kiss Me Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Kiss Me

Rating: 4.4

On that cold winters day I recall:
The sky was grey and,
The wind tormented us so.
You whispered gently in my goose pimpled ear:
'Are you cold'.
You hugged and held me tightly,
Pulling me even closer into your chest;
Acting like an extra layer of clothes
To keep me warm and safe, like
I was the last person alive in the world.
Finally you lent in and kissed me so sweetly;
I swear the world stopped spinning, and
The realization of my life had been found,
All in that one conquering kiss-
I even thought that nothing would ever matter again...

Anna, this was certainly 'a kiss to build a dream on'. I could imagine the cold night and that extra layer of clothes to keep you safe and the wind and its torment. Well done! This is a magical poem. Karin Anderson
