Kiss From A Distant Love Poem by Oduro Bright Amoh

Kiss From A Distant Love

The grass is greener where I squat,
My heart is bluer too.
Amidst the quietude of my yearning heart,
Silence whispers a thousand words.
Alone below with stars above, I squat and stare
but my mind has travelled far,
Seeking a kiss from a distant love.
Oh how I wish this were here
To bring to reality a dreamy kiss
And put inside this body
The warmth that occupies my mind.
My head is bowed, I will not cry.
Yet those lonely tears are falling.
The longing is here, but it is far away
The dream is real, the reality remains a dream.
When will that day be?
When the silence shall see a smile,
And the lips so dry shall be wet again
By the very lips I sit here dreaming of?
On this romantic spot I squat alone and stare alone
Longing for the kiss from a distant love.
