Kings Of Sleep Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Kings Of Sleep

Pyres burning like Viking swords
Flashes in the sun of giants
Supple nipples that rule my fire
Deposition of turquoise legacy
Regal eagle wings spread golden
Green fire in the mystic forest
Bury the feathers and pain
Let the blue rain fall gentle
Weep for noble shamans
Children of the hunted
Sirens of the stars
Sundials raise ziggurats

She comes to me with centuries
My tongue laps the waters of Venus
Frozen years melted by golden showers
Rainbow words swell the clouds
The dead have traveled far
See the haunted rivers?
Streams of bloody tears
Mad sails scarred with law
Ships of religious sadists
Understanding travels by martyrs
Birth from the tenuous womb
Earth sighs in sullen winds

New moons rise gathering gnomes
Eaten by lions in the ravaged dream
She sings like savannah grass
Sycamores frosted with lust
Pour your jewels my love into stars
Empty the womb of ruby rings
Lavish the night with eyes of diamonds
Symbiotic chords of peyote
Wolves of eternal free joy
Light the pyre of red fable
Myths of dancing warriors
Paint your faces shadows rise

Ghost tribes ride the wild wind
The wedding of the sea and rivers
Fires along the trail of tears
Bury your heart at Wounded Knee
She is a princess from the kings
Winds blow in my fiery bed
Chimes cry like moaning desire
The abandoned hunt for homes
Feverish Saturn swirls like whips
The legions of braves hear the dream
Chiefs of all the tribes shine
Shed your skin like snakes

Revel amidst the kings of sleep
