King Rana Sanga Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

King Rana Sanga

Rating: 5.0

Great warrior
Brave soldier
Kind ruler

In the desert kingdom
People witnessed seldom
Movement with freedom

Head of all warrior groups
He was commander of troops
Left behind no loop holes

Legend has many stories
Good name in the history
State had rich heritage and prosperity

Always fought with valor
Preferred death with honor
For small rulers, he remained as protector

Central rulers were jealous
So kept pressure continuous
This made him very famous

Eighty wounds on his body
Only one leg and one eye and still ready
For major battle with enemy

In childhood he was napping
Snake protected him with his head cap
Came to be known as brilliant, brave with intelligence very sharp

Mewad* lost its glory after his fall
He was major obstacle and wall
Fir freedom struggle he stood very tall
