King Lear Poem by Marieta Maglas

King Lear

Rating: 5.0

If nothing empowers you
to dream in this real life,
you don`t cry and dance in the rain.
You`re not a child anymore.

If you can forget yourself,
you can't be yourself~
falling away into your body.

You have never screamed in the darkness.

If you didn't have enough courage
to make love in the snow,
to feel that snow melting
on the ground, certainly,
you probably wouldn't have been able
to touch my soul.

'Cause that's what I want to do,
walk around begging for love,
reaching out my left hand to you.

You are my King Lear.
If you loved me,
I would never leave you.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Don’t touch my soul, Because I prefer to Walk around With love in my hand And remain with my hand prostrate, In stand by, Like Lear., helps you climb out of the mire of 'me' and touch 'us'
