King And Dolphin Become Kin. Poem by Stephen Katona

King And Dolphin Become Kin.

Rating: 3.5

This is a tale to make you sing,
Of dolphins and a kindly king.

One day he met,
Some dolphins in a net.
As he saw their fears,
His eyes filled with tears.
To their delight,
He did what was right,
Letting out a cry:
'We can't let them die!
Set them free,
To roam the sea! '

The dolphins put on a joyful show,
Setting everyone's heart aglow.

One day our king set sail from Paros,
Towards another city called Naxos,
But a terrible storm sank his ship.
On a floating plank he tried to grip,
When suddenly he was on a grey smooth back,
Riding through a night so black,
Holding onto fin,
King and dolphin became kin.

They reached safety in a cave.
And so life each gave.
