Kindred Poem by Addy Adenawo

Kindred

There is a field
On the other side
A world rising like a mirage
Out of the heat of betrayal
Farther and farther
His feet carried him
Eyes unwavering, stuck
On the horizon and the field beyond
Only the heartbroken
See the thin line of hope
And may venture beyond
To seek solace, in shared tales
Stories of love lost, broken laces
Of heights and sudden crashes
Of lone voyages of ecstasy
Disguised as mutual bliss
A place where lonely hearts roam
Seek and find another true
To fill the gapping hole
And form a new whole
