'Killing Black Widows' Poem by Carlos Ornelas

'Killing Black Widows'

Rating: 5.0

Trapped in her world wide web
Breath crawling up each leg
She injects the 90 proof venom
Into Flies as I watch her spin-em;

She tried to suck me dry when she met me
A rare balance of Lovely and deadly
Black widow on my pillow but my heart's an armadillo
There's no room here to cardiac arrest me;

Speaking of arachnids, I'm giving up the practice
To macro-manage Acrimonious acronyms
And fan the aura with Afro-picks; exercise is Arrow-bics
Holy Homey Gangster flicks arachnoid pterodactyl Ms.

Little Miss, Little Miss Black Widow Riddle-bits
itty-bitty fingerprints wouldn't wed a Woodie-whipped
Witty widow with a web besides the window. And i wept-
As weeping willows; for spider bites on necks and elbows

Amidst the spindle of broken limbo
The swollen limbs of an orphaned ninfo
In dreams as these I've graffiti'ed my pillows
With tiny screams; as I'm killing black widows.
