.kali Poem by Vidyadhar Durgekar

.kali

Rating: 4.9

Flowing deep blue & serene,
From the hills of sahyadri green,
Around places lovely and unseen,
Preserving environs neat and clean,
For all those waiting her downstream:

Generating power to light every home,
It flows come summer, winter or rain,
Without stop through the year for no reason,
Or to help those who live by the stream,
Eat sleep and enjoy with the flow and dream:

Taking birth in the hills of Dandeli,
Flowing down the hills mother Kali,
With no equals in south barring Kaveri,
When it is joined by upper kaneri,
Finally permeating in Arabian Sea:

The lovely river comes alive through you mastery of rhyme. Enchantingly it carries with it a magic that enhances the countryside. An enjoyable read.
