Just Your Sister Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Just Your Sister

Just thought you should know I love you
But when I look in your eyes
I know it’s her you see
It’s a simple thing
My love, can’t you see we’re meant to be?
You’re a great sister!
You say to me and I fall off the cliff
Into the deep
Will you save me?
I’m drowning in the memories
Your smile, it’s my life jacket
I must learn to see that we’ll never be
But my heart, oh my heart
It wishes on falling stars for you
Every night you haunt my dreams
I can still feel your hand slipping into mine
So nervous and young
But you see, my dear
If I cannot be your everything
I must be your something
I cannot stand to be your nothing
So what something am I, love?
Just your sister, I see
