Just Yesterday Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Just Yesterday

Rating: 5.0

Where did the time go,
It seems it was
just yesterday
We pledged our love.
We were young and
this love was ours for
all eternity.
How many years has it
been?
Seems,
It was just yesterday...
We could not give or receive
enough kisses or long enough
embraces from each other.

Our love overflowed, spilling
into days, months, years
devoted to our lives together.
We were blessed with three
beautiful children the essence
and glory to God of our unity.

Then, ''a softly lingering promise' left behind'
found me crying, sudddenly, you were gone.
What happened to our forever?
Where is that eternity we whispered we
would have, in each other's ears, delivered
With passionate, loving kisses.

Until death do us part was our pledge,
now, I am lost, our eternity ended
with your demise...
It seems, my love, it was just yesterday.
