Just The Way It Goes Poem by R. L. Allen

Just The Way It Goes

That’s just the way it goes,
you know it almost never snows
at Christmas,

not since the earth warmed
and made everyone cautious.

That’s just the way life goes,
poppies growing in rows
in November,

remembering all who fell
fighting a battle that wasn’t theirs.

That just how it goes,
always a sunflower grows
tall

and strong, yellow like the sun
in summer and daffodils in spring.

That’s just how it goes,
God is the Father who knows

everything.

Just the way it goes! Fantastic poem. So many things just happen, the way they happen. We only can change how we think and feel about them. This poem makes me think of the story of the woman who had tried every possible method to get rid of the daffodils in her garden without success. She sighed: what to do now? The gardener answered: why not start to love the daffodils? A very nice poem!
