Just Not Ready To Burn Poem by Danyelle Stanley

Just Not Ready To Burn

Consumed in a fire
Filled with passion and desire
The flames standing tall
Waiting for another heart to call
And pray for help to relieve
From the many stresses of life you have to believe
That life isn’t always like this
Looking at a person and yearning for that special kiss
What is a person to do
When the toughest part of life is not yet through
It’s rough and it’s tough
But steadily I’m moving
To a soft and steady beat that keeps me grooving
I have nothing more to say
But the flames are getting higher and coming my way
All I can say is
‘Lord, help me cause I’m just not ready to burn.’
