Just Human Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Just Human

Rating: 5.0

When a child enters this world
The child is either a boy or a girl
The child knows no religious faith
The child knows no patriot claim
It knows not the struggles of race and clan
Or what defines woman or man

The one struggle it does know
Began nine months ago
To live and grow - to breathe the air
To get food - no other cares

But added to this struggle comes
A yearning desire - a lifelong search
A deep hunger and burning thirst
For that which nurtures soul and spirit
Needed to make this life complete
A deep caring and wonderful love
That sates the hunger, slakes the thirst
And fills the desire of the lifelong search

But it is we who have this gift of love
It is we who must give this love -
Not to one we cannot see
But to friend, foe and family
Love is like the cycle of rain
It rejuvenates all again and again
This love must rule our hearts
To quench the fires of discord keeping us apart

A very good description of one's journey through time...Human beings need to receive their parents' love first to be able to live and love correctly in a later stage of their lives..
