Just Because The Man Is Dead Poem by Melephant GARCIA

Just Because The Man Is Dead

Rating: 5.0

Just because the man is dead
Doesn't mean his word won't ring
Throughout the city it brings
The sweet sound of freedom
Just because his chest no longer rises and falls
Doesn't mean his word won't be heard by all
By those who know
And want to show
The right past the destruction of all
Just because the man who stood
And told the story that was never read
Took his last breath
Doesn't mean the speech wasn't said
That the whispers of freedom
And the tyranny of your rule
Hasn't been told
By the whisper in the catacombs
Right beneath your nose
Just because the man is dead
Doesn't mean his word is gone
By instead found far into town
Where the daylight finally shown
Your rule will be turned against
By those who rebel against your might
From your power you shall fall
By those you thought were friend not foe
And all those against
Just because the man is dead
Doesn't mean his word never spread

The seed of Liberty has been sown, it has germinated and the tree is gradually growing. A well articulated piece of poetry, insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕10
