Just Another Saturday Poem by Marilyn White

Just Another Saturday

Like any other the ones
After the game but this one
Seems a little special you scored
It’s the homecoming dance the big one
It feels like dream I am Princess
I caught you eye a few times
I saw you look over at me
Through the crowded people
The first time you came my way
I really didn’t care all that much
The second time you came over
I was thinking how I should
Step to you and talk to you
But the slow song came on
That cut the silence the dream
That I once loved died and I was
Faced with the reality of it all
But I know that another one
Will come soon because it’s
Just another Saturday after the game
