Julia Mary Murphy Poem by Francis Duggan

Julia Mary Murphy

A good mother to Freda, John, Timmy and Margaret and to Paddy Murphy a good wife
And in famed Rathduane House she lived most of her life
She lived on to a ripe old age for to grow old and gray
and with the dearly departed at peace she now forever lay.

Of Julia Mary Murphy kind things one can only say
For to help out other people she went out of her way
From my boyhood in the fifties she is one i can recall
And fond memories of the good days are the best memories of all.

For her children a great role model by good example she did lead
For the basis for to lead a good life for them she did plant the seed
And though she may be gone forever her legacy remain
She is one we will remember when we go back memory lane.

From the family home at Rathduane she may be forever gone
But amongst her children, grandchildren and her many friends memories of her will live on
Kindness, honesty and hard work were things she did embrace
And the World for her departure surely is a worse off place.
