Joys And Sorrows Poem by Raymond J Wright

Joys And Sorrows

Rating: 5.0

Time
heals all wounds
or maybe,
It hides our scars
behind a mountain
of memories.
interim
joys and sorrows
that whisper in your ear,
and dreams that
injure my sleep

do you remember
the days before this,
when laughter and
adventure filled our lives?
I remember the easy smiles, and
the arms of my friends,
I remember the future
laid out before me
like a promise of promise

But,
those days of wine and roses,
they’re so far behind me now

and the years in between...

I wish that I could remember
why I feel this way, and
why tomorrow will be
a victim of my past

If time
could heal these wounds
then why do I still bleed, and
why can’t I remember
all the moments strung together,
that make me who I am?
