Journey Poem by Lydia Martin

Journey

Dusty lanes like roads once travelled
Hold lasting lines of seamless dreams.
Paths of hope and future fancies
Twist and wind like rivers and streams.

Past memories, like photographs,
Open our minds to pastures new.
Climb hilly plains and mountain trails,
Walk onwards and enjoy the view.

Unchartered seas and tempests loom
Like jigsaw maps strewn on the floor.
With loves bounty locked in our hearts
Find a key to the hidden door.

To remember, lest we forget,
Songs of laughter dry our tears.
Enjoy the dust of life’s journey
Smiling away our darkest fears.
