John Robert 3 Poem by Victoria Gauci

John Robert 3

Just as the lone wolf will travel,
Thousands of miles to find a mate,
I believe that you were sent to me,
I am sure it was our fate,

I was alive and lonely,
For so many many years,
I thought that I would die without,
The love that you've brought here,

You've never laughed at my weaknesses,
You've never turned away,
When all my sad and painful moments,
Have gotten in the way,

You hold my hand and wipe my tears,
And you never make me feel,
As if I am someone pathetic,
Or that my feelings are not real,

Through these years we've been together,
I have come to know true pleaure,
To share the world and have someone,
Who considers me a treasure,

You have shown me what life can be,
When you don't have to stand alone,
It makes it easier to love another,
And to stand up on ones' own,

In having you poised by my side,
Words cannot express my gladness,
I've never felt so complete before,
You have vanquished all my sadness,

I hope that I can give to you,
All the happiness you've given to me,
I hope that you will always know,
How deeply I love thee,

Every day for the rest of my life,
I will love you more and more,
I never knew that love was real,
Until I met you at the door.
