John Lennon Poem by Mark Kosek

John Lennon

He showed his life, wishes and dreams
In the music that he wrote
But his main message was love and peace
In each and every beautiful note

He wanted us to live as one
Every religion, race and creed
Everyone equal under the sun
With love and peace as the lead

His dream of a brotherhood of man
Is not too difficult to 'Imagine'
If we could put away our disdain,
And hatred and prejudice we could abandon

I guess he was an ultimate dreamer
Like many great people of our time
King's was through a peaceful demeanor
Lennon's through his music and rhyme

But like so many who take that step
To lead us down a peaceful path
They end up paying the ultimate debt
At the hands of some idiot's wrath

Each time I hear his words in song
I feel a mix of joy and sorrow
Sadness that our John is gone
But hope of love and peace tomorrow

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have written a poem for a lot of rock music legends similar to this. Usually I have drawn a picture to coincide with each poem I write with well over 100 combos catalogued. Maybe I'll get rhem in a book someday :)
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
John Brown 25 November 2013

Not a bad write. I have been a Beatles fan all my life, and love their music. I like John's stuff too. I always thought it a shame though to start a song with the words: 'Imagine there's no heaven' Maybe it's just me?
