John And Marie Poem by Mehar Chauhan

John And Marie

Dear John-
Meet me by the river,
meet me when it's dawn
For the good times we had
We'll walk the bank along

My dear Marie-
I'm not sure if i'll make it.
I'll tell u the possibility
When my work is done
& i wish to walk along

I hate to say goodbye,
but i have to go Marie.
Of all the reasons i know,
not one can really mean.

Don't wait up for me
Sleep well submarine
Remember me as a pleasant season
With flowers and the green

With memories in my bag
I'm all set to go
Destination known
& i have to walk i know

About the walk i'll tell u
1969 it is.
The lush green fields await us.
& we shall walk- for love and peace.
