Jimi Hendrix Blues Poem by Wayne Falconer

Jimi Hendrix Blues

Jimi Hendrix blew a million minds out
he was extraordinary whirlwind without doubt
his incredible music won't die outa fashion
long as there's blues pain and passion.

English manager first liked his style
brought Jimi from America to English Isle
where he formed his legendary experience band
the rest is indeed blues rock history land.

Dubbed the black Elvis acid rock king
whose guitar woven notes were heard to sing
called the wild frenzy stratocastor guitar hand
who took the outlaw psychedelic blues stand.

Riding through fourth dimensional sky
altered states within his redemption eye
inviting in celebration you and I along
painting the stars purple in brush song.

Jimi sang the emotional blues manic depression.
The blues tormenting lovers spiritual confession
flying proudly his hippie freak flag high
high man, high right until day he did die.

Amplifiers screamed shrieked soared in pain.
Jimi wasn't paying no false plastic game.
Are you real are you experienced man an free.
Yeah what do you know can you understand me.

Some reporter asked Jimi what about your act.
Where from can you answer in truth and fact.
Jimi replied 'hey I'm from planet mars man right
I hope man you might well understand outasight'.

But strangely away from stardoms musical light
Jimi was really quite almost shy and always polite
just a young negro blues artist soulful boy
full of peace love wonderment laughter and joy.

Lots been written bout Jimi there's more to say
think this poem could take forever and another day
but best forget the drugs excess sex and booze
better to remember Jimi Hendrix anyway you choose.

Jimi Hendrix died went away age far to soon
blazing like fiery satellite under red moon.
The genius master of psychedelic rock guitar
exploded like the blues shooting flaming star.
