Jesus Loves You Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Jesus Loves You

To thrive I’d cheat, deceive and lie
I’d comb the world debris
For self I’d seek to multiply
Whilst Jesus Christ loved me

My words my deeds were Heaven plain
Each thought Christ's eyes could see
My wayward life I lived in vain
Yet still God’s Lamb loved me

Disobedient and plagued with doubt
From light my soul would flee
Till God came down to sought me out
Through Jesus loving me

Love saw my heart my evil soul
Upon that dreadful Tree
Shedding life’s blood to make me whole
Truly God's Lamb loves me

Nothing I’d say nothing I’d done
Could bring such victory
Yet here I stand with battle’s won
Through Jesus loving me

His side His feet, each nail pierced hand
My eyes began to see
Through grace I see and understand
God’s awesome Son loves me

Now born of spirit heart ablaze
Blessed on bended knee
With joyful soul I’ll sing God’s praise
Through Jesus’ loving me

I’ll sing out loud, sing soft and sweet
With all who will agree
Sitting beside those ancient feet
Of Jesus loving me
