Jesus Is Our Anchor! Poem by Shaila Touchton

Jesus counts the tears of hurt ones
His ears are finely tuned to our tears
Like a mother who wakes at the sound of her child,
He hears the cries of the oppressed
People can hear our cries and do nothing,
When Jesus hears, He acts with compassion
Jesus wants us to direct our cries and fears to Him
Every need is met when we put it in the hands of Jesus
He values all our precious tears, whether for joy or sorrow
He is standing near to us and sees our falling tears
There is nothing too hard for Him


Jesus sees the tears of a brokenhearted soul
He sees our tears and hears them when they fall
He sees the burdens and wounds our hearts carry
Our tears are precious to Him, stirring His very heart
Causing Him to respond to our tears.
He hears the deep anguish of our spirit
He watches over you and me
Our Lord understands and has lived
Through the very same things we experience.
He has been tempted, mocked, beaten, ridiculed, doubted and falsely accused.

Jesus knows our feelings and frustrations.
He has seen the crisis in our soul.
There's no hurt that goes unnoticed by him
His ways and thoughts are higher than ours
He has seen our tears and has felt our pains.
He shares our sorrows and our grief.
He has never left us and never will.
He is with us always through the Holy Spirit
He will see us through every situation.

Jesus opens the new doors of opportunity for those who seek him
We need to continue to walk by faith not by sight
By meditating and praying about our situation
By forsaking our sins and changing our ways
He desires to give us the rest and peace we need
These troubles test our faith, and will give us patience
We are being perfected and completed for eternal purpose
Keep trusting Jesus even when our prayers don't seem to get answered.


He longs to answer our prayers
Expect Him to answer all our prayers in his own time
He cares about every detail of our life.
We need to Surrender our life and have the peace of God
He strengthens us to do all things
And supplies all our needs according to all His resources.

Cast your burdens on Jesus
Because He cares for you
He shall cover us with his feathers and under his wings
No matter what storms raging in our life
Stand firm in Christ when stress and anxiety is beyond the norm
Stand firm in his faith when discouragements and disappointments affect us

Know that He is with us in middle of our storm guiding and carrying us
He is powerful enough to calm our storms and keep us safe.
Jesus is the anchor that holds us firm to the hope
HE can help us overcome any struggles life may hand us
Jesus will never leave me nor forsake us
His word will NEVER return void
For He is the same God today, yesterday and forever.
