Don’t try to put a smile on my day
It’s for the better, you say
What about my feelings, about the girl that you hurt
You lied to me, and I was treated like dirt
I guess you thought that I wouldn’t put up a fight
And you tried to be cheerful and bright
But I caught you making fun, behind my back
That’s when my heart started to crack
You weren’t the guy I thought you were
I should have been stronger
You saw getting rid of me as a perk
