Jealousy Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Jealousy

Rating: 4.8

I am overpowered and taken over by intense jealousy
Some one should not get angry on me and feel pity?
Neither has it been confined to one town or city
Nor it has been descended from divinity

I feel that I have been confined to cage
As if nothing has been written on page
Blurred vision with no thinking and direction
Lacking morale and nothing to offer for action

I feel shame and continue to burn
I may soon be out of scene in turn
What should I do and try to learn?
Is it confined to me alone and only concern?

Is it the frustration that has taken over?
Is it is the simple tactic to find cover?
Why to hide our own weaknesses for nothing?
Nothing may prove fruitful and come out of it as something

It is sheer madness to get over and go for rage
You can turn rapist or killer from sage
It is stage mean to be adopted for destruction
Then it will be too late to follow the instruction

Love and hate, amity and enmity doesn’t augur well
They are all the symptoms to send us in hell
No one has won the sympathy or gained anything
It is way to go for self destruction for nothing

I may prefer love to hate
People may push me out of gate
Still it is in our hand and not early or late
Can we blame it alone to our fate?

I may have to choose lesser evil
It may be forced on you as will
What is then best way to get out of it?
Prepare worst for self and willingly meet

Intense hatred results into formation of jealousy
Though it is not all of sudden or coming out easy
It burns from within at personal cost
All the relations are put in cold storage and frost

It will not allow you to live peacefully
You may not be aware of it fully
Still it resides in your remote corner
Allows the rage to come out of burner

If you control it in time then it is well and good
It may burn you live as if without food
You won’t come out of it at first
It will always keep you at the last

I can’t go against HIS wish
Love is like water to fish
It may be existent in any form
I shall pray to come out of storm

love: hate good: bad ....and for me....... jealousy: acceptance jealousy results chaos...either deep within or physical. on the otherhand if 'acceptance' is present you wouldn't be envy for anybody, because you can accept that you are not as good as the other..... the poet criticizes jealous people by setting the point of view to himself, because more probably, the author don't want to hurt them..insult them... why the jealous people wont be hurted? .. its because they'd feel that they are not alone, and feel pity to someone like them... the author disguises himself as one of those jealous people to criticize them and at the same time not to be hated by those said jealous people.... actually, the approach of the author is intellegent...and he presented good ideas....no, not just good but best ideas....the author is full of wisdom...i salute him on that....

Beware of jealousy my lord, it is the green eyed monster which mocks the meat it feeds on - so said W. Shakespeare
