Jaws Of Death Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Jaws Of Death

tearing the darkness
with headlights on
coming with a speed
beyond the limits
with innocent passengers
deep in their slumber
a bus in early hours
hits a culvert and catches fire
killing all in their sleep
set on an excursion
to enjoy the life
students from colleges
ahead with bright future
washed away by flash floods
while enjoying the nature
oil pipelines running across villages
triggered a tragedy
to a hamlet of poor
killing many in their sleep
by a fire due to oil pipe burst
designed in such a way
the jaws of death
knows no one
the escaping route
never blamed is the death
attributed reasons are many
