Jagged Knife Poem by David Lovell

Jagged Knife

Twisted melancholy
Cuts through my flesh
Jagged, like a serrated blade
Ignition of anger
And the innocence of the night is lost
Beauty gone all too quickly
Like the passing of summer rain
Can it be regained?
As I ponder this, it falls on my ears
Like soft music
It is the grace of God unimaginable in scope
And innocence lost has been restored
