Jack-O-Lantern Poem by Justin Gildow

Jack-O-Lantern

After an hour or 2 of giving you a face and a smile
And for all intents and purposes that I've brought you to life
I'm more than happy to call you mine
I'm more than proud to claim you as mine

I pick you up in my hands
And your face stares as me
And to know I've brought you to life
It makes me glow inside

I'm counting down the minutes
While waiting for the night to arrive
I plan to let you become one with the night
I plan for you to feel alive tonight

The night is finally here
So I place you outside
I light you
And you wonderfully glow
You awaken my adoration for Halloween
Perhaps more than you'll ever know
