It Was You Poem by Tameka Morin

It Was You

It looks like another day,
another hundred thousand mistakes,
I sneak into my room on a rainy day,
and I watch as my tears roll down the window pane.
It's tragical, but there's not
much I can do,
the one I want, the one I had
it was you.
the light gets through the window
shades,
and it chases the rain away,
when I close my eyes,
I can feel you by my side.
It's tragical. But there's not
much I can do,
the one I want, the one I had
it was you.
I don't get why you left,
why did you have to leave,
I wish I had a trick up my
sleeve, to get you back.
I'm in shades of grey and
blue,
so, I'll sit here and wait for
you.
It's tragical, but there's not
much I can do,
the one I want, the one I had,
it was you.
this silent room it deafening,
it just makes me want to
scream.
But I wasn't what you were
looking for,
but I don't hate you anymore.
It's tragical. But there's not
much I can do,
the one I want, the one I had,
it was you.
It was you.
