It Was You Poem by Lynn Garman

It Was You

Rating: 2.5

i can sit here all day and wonder what went wrong.
i can ask so many questions but i dont know where to start.
i do know one thing though.

it was you who let it crumble.
it was you who let it fall.
it was you who threw it away.
it was you, all of it was you.

dont blame me for all your mistakes.
your the one who did the crime so now you must do the time.
i was ready to start all over with you.
but you left me standing on my own when you said you wouldnt.

now i know all about you.
and who you trully are.
and ive come to realize this.

it was you who lied all along.
it was you who lead me on.
it was you who broke all the promises.
it was you who hurt me all along.

and now im left alone picking up the pieces.
the pieces to my shattered heart, thanks to you.
but i still love you, baby i still love you.
but you need to know that im moving on.
this is for you and you need to know.

it was you, who let it fall.
it was me who walked away.
but it was you, who lost something great.

im sitting here wondering what went wrong.
debating on making a phone call and asking you what i did.
but i know it wasnt me, it was you.
so why waste my time or breath on you.
