It's True You Will Go Blind

She went to bed an hour ago
with the curlers in her hair;
leaving her dentures in a bowl to bathe.
This prompted me to believe
that she still loves me;
for were I twenty years her younger
instead of being five years older
I might have begged
for a new bar of soap….
