It's There Coming Poem by David Howerton

It's There Coming

Here seeing darkness settle
smiling at things
partly seen.

Doesn't matter that much
yet look and try
to understand
shapes obscured
visions outer space
dripping night.

Gets to me
here in worn chair
sagging springs
almost ready to break
but still comfortable.

Sharp circle light at chair
shadows thicker in room corners
something not quite there
moves about room
dripping night.
