It's Only Pain Poem by Igor Wolfson

It's Only Pain

You cannot cry, you can't complain
You cannot die, you can't constrain
All things that come to you in life - to stay,
So they just go away...

You cannot even say it's hard,
You cannot leave things in the dark,
You have to be all careful, hark
'Till sound fades...

You can't agree or disagree, you're trapped again
With some cold blooded animal, you're prey
The cage is getting smaller every day
If you count days...

It's like you gave up queen to win
And now some pawn eats slowly all you have
It's like you were so happy... Digging your own grave
Not wanting to get in

Not giving up the hope it isn't my own grave I'm digging
And when I say: 'I'm kidding', think again
I might pretend it's hope what I myself am feeding
But there is only pain.
