It Never Goes Away.... Poem by Susan Lacovara

It Never Goes Away....

it never goes away...

never goes away

never goes away

those thousands of hours

when tears

like the great Niagra fell

the wall of clouds

that rambled and reached across

our September smoking skyline

the bodies, breathless souls

carried from the crematorium

that was the Towers footprints

it never goes away...

never goes away

never goes away

the sea of circulated pictures

posted on every pole

Of New York's Lower Manhattan heart

it never goes away...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(05/15/14) No matter how often I write about the pain of September 11TH.
the sadness remains...it never goes away. Although we have come so far from those tragic events, the emotions still run high. For New Yorkers, and indeed many others, throughout the globe, the day that changed our world. A tear shed, for that tear in time...and as always, my wish of PEACE

We who watched from a distance but were still linked in one way or other, wish you peace and comfort with our prayers.

LEST WE FORGET. We pray for all victims and for their suffering families.
