It is unique

It is unique to swim in child’s memory
So innocent and part of the life as necessary
It has long list of unforgettable incidences
Sometimes at fault and sometime pales with grievances

Teacher found me inattentive
And made to stand on bench with attitude so offensive
I could hardly bear the onslaught
But it was right lesson to be taught

I remember them to be tough and at the same time mild
Their behavior was so exemplary and kind
We were given audience at any time
Without any expectation all the times

We had burial ground near by
We always climbed on high trees and tried
To jump with equal enthusiasm
It was nice world to watch through prism

We noticed human skull
That we placed near skeleton cupboard in school
It reminded me how notorious we were?
We had made our presence felt almost everywhere

We used to celebrate teacher’s day with fun fare
We will be in teacher’s dress for all to stare
The student teacher may visit his own class and address
It was quite fun to watch worry lines on his face

These memories invade when we are at free time
Or in the calm night when everybody is asleep sometimes
It is quite unique to go back to the memory of old school days
And remember all those hurdles that had come along the way

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
