It Is Quite Some Time Now

Rating: 4.0

It is quite some time now…

It is quite some time now
That I have not seen the stars
I miss the bullets in the chest of the sky.

Even the sky has left us
What we see is smog and sludge
Or it is smoke's victim hung by a noose.

I miss them as I miss my ability to think
I miss my power to walk on natural gravel roads
Now asphalted, concreted, and covered by glass, soft
For the sake of enemies, the cars, trucks
And for the comfort of the filthy wealthy.

It is quite some time now
That my notes kiss the paper tissues
And the crumpled papers torn from
Folded A4 turned to A5 and smaller.

They are scattered and lay here and there
Asleep, abandoned with no kiss or a look
From you…from me…

It is quite some time now
That no ruby and no pearl has remained
In my wine glass
After drinking with your eyes bright
Or even alone in my dark night.

It is quite some time now…
