It Hurts To Hear The Truth Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

It Hurts To Hear The Truth

Truth is something we all want and expect someone to give to use automatically
Something we don’t understand and ask why we are lied to
The truth is hard to except once given, the most painful thing
But with out the truth where would we be?
With out the truth we would be in pain
Leading our selves on in lost hope
Forgetting what happened and why we were hurt
Letting your self-think everything is OK with out it being all right
Yet we all lie and there is no denying that
We give little white lies but they are still lies
Most fear the truth because they don’t want to be hurt
They don’t want to be rejected or feel the pain again
The fear the truth because they don’t want another broken heart
But why do we want the truth if it hurts so much
Why don’t people ask for lies if they don’t want to be hurt
Why do people expect the truth if they don’t want to hear it
Because the truth always hurts but it doesn’t have to
It can be something good, an expression of emotion
The truth of love is a good thing to think about
But the truth of heartache is inescapable
So think before you beg for the truth
Can you face the pain? Is your heart that bold?
Can you soak it all in and understand what is going on
We all expect the truth but be careful what you expect from it
