It Happened One Night Poem by Joyce Hemsley

It Happened One Night

On the night of a trip to the Planet Mars
Northern lights shone like pretty stars.
But power plants suddenly lost their might
No electricity ~ no strumming delight.

New York officials became quite frantic
Whilst lovers found it slightly romantic
People everywhere were stranded...
They imagined an atom bomb had landed.

A little discussion on why and wherefore
And little diamonds glistened once more.
The night-time journey to a planet in Space
Took young lovers to a heavenly place.
