The infamous Doctor from America,
Henry Hawley Crippen,
murdered his wife - named Belle
so as he could take a mistress.
But he made a crude decision.
He buried his wife's remains
at Islington's Hilldropp Crescent
in the cellar of the London house
where he lived as a local tenant.
Then together with his pretty secretary
all dressed in boy's array,
he tried to escape across the sea
all aboard for the U.S.A.
But sadly for him, a radio message
reached the Captain of the crew
and exposed to all, his wicked game ~
he was captured, his life to rue.
At Pentonville Prison he was executed
as was the practice way back then,
the first ever arrest from a radio message
it happened in 'nineteen hundred and ten'.
